The Epic 82X diving regulator combines the traditional advantages of Mares regulators with the latest technological innovations and an exclusive design.
First stage
The first stage of the Epic 82X regulator has a 360° rotating turret. The special design of the HP outlets (OPD) allows the high pressure hose and/or the computer transmitter to always be pre-oriented, regardless of the position of the first stage, offering maximum comfort.
The 82X is a balanced diaphragm first stage. Thanks to these features, it always guarantees maximum performance and reliability at any depth and with any supply pressure. The careful study of the flows has allowed, thanks to the DFC system, to optimize the internal air passages that guarantee high air flows in all the low pressure outlets.
The new AST (Auto-Sealing Technology) system is mounted on the 82X first stage: the system is activated automatically by the gas flow without any mechanical solution for maximum reliability and creates an anti-infiltration protection that keeps the first stage dry in all conditions.
The forging process with which the body is made allows for a compact, lightweight product with an attractive appearance, making the first stage of the Epic82X unique. It is available with INT or DIN connection.
Second stage
The second stage of the Epic82X regulator was designed by Mares to be the top of its range.
The VAD system takes advantage of the Venturi effect created thanks to a lateral by-pass. The airflow flows inwards without bumping into levers and/or mechanisms, to ensure maximum performance even in extreme situations, such as diving in cold water.
The Twin Power system allows you to control the airflow of the VAD system, ensuring natural breathing at any depth and providing and adjusting the amount of air needed in relation to the diver's request.
Breathing comfort (cracking effort) is adjustable according to the diver's needs thanks to a lateral rotor, easy to use even with thick gloves; a feature that Mares also applies to the large rocker purge button for easy and immediate use.
Compensated pneumatic balancing completes the range of advantages of this second stage.
It is also available as Octopus in the classic yellow colour.
ALL-METAL TECHNOLOGY
Their excellent mechanical strength and high thermal conductivity make our metal second stages extremely durable and perfect for cold water diving. The high thermal conductivity of the metal reduces the feeling of dry mouth during the dive.
DFC SYSTEM
Minimizes intermediate pressure drop during inhalation, thus maximizing gas delivery, especially under extreme conditions.
A.C.T. VALVE - ADVANCED COATING TECHNOLOGY
The new valve of the “X” systems increases durability by an incredible 600%, even in the most extreme conditions.
TWINPOWER
The new flow control manages the rate of gas delivery from natural breathing to powerful breathing. The former is the traditional way of breathing with a Mares regulator (VAD), while the latter (VAD+) gives you an extra boost when you need it.
RAV SYSTEM
The bypass tube directs air towards the mouthpiece, creating a vortex with a low pressure zone in the center that keeps the diaphragm down during inhalation,
increasing the sensitivity of the regulator and facilitating breathing at any depth.
SUPERFLEX HOSE
Its exceptional elasticity and extraordinarily light weight guarantee maximum freedom of movement.
