The new crank for classic Vespas «large frame» is a small mechanical masterpiece that encapsulates the maximum technology to ensure a piece with extremely high mechanical characteristics, capable of withstanding efforts far superior to those usually faced by the original component and able to maintain these characteristics unchanged over time.
The use of high-purity steel allows, through appropriate thermochemical treatment, to achieve extremely high surface hardness combined with very high mechanical strength. These two characteristics make the crankpin highly resistant to both contact wear and mechanical stresses, especially in the case of high-performance engines.
The projection using the highest CAD CAM systems has allowed to review and optimize the profiles of the coupling levers to obtain greater fluidity, precision, and safety of use of the shift lever.
The stability and dimensional precision of the part are guaranteed within limits that cannot be achieved otherwise, thanks to the use of a CNC working center and the double quality control to which each part is subjected in order to guarantee the quality and performance expected from a Malossi part.
