The GUN WIND marks Suomy''''s triumphant entry into the world of cycling. It was born to be the first of the range.
It encompasses the whole spirit of the Suomy racing world. When Suomy decided to attack the cycling world with the same goal as always, to be number 1, the entire staff immediately focused on the racing helmet. All the experience gained and put into this product has created something new, also thanks to the great athletes of the Lampre-Merida team who collaborated on the project.
Technically advanced with a thermoplastic resin composite reinforcement, it has a super fluid interspace of air between the head and the helmet, through Suomy''''s new adjustment system, the SEXC system.
A strong monochrome, without a doubt. Social, outgoing, up for the challenge but also perfect for long rides with friends. A choice that sets no limits and is open to everyone. It conveys the desire to express friendship and pedal together in complete safety.

SUOMY SMART STRAP
SMART STRAP, the new and revolutionary system designed and patented by Suomy to increase helmet safety. This solution changes the vision of the game, by modifying the paradigms behind the safety devices of helmets.
THE DYNAMICS OF IMPACT
Rototranslational forces, which are those that act on the helmet as a result of shocks or impacts, are transmitted to the helmet''''s anchorage system (holding strap). These forces, to avoid possible damage to the brain or neck due to the resulting acceleration or deceleration, must be limited by slowing down the rotation of the helmet on the head. In fact, such rotation, as we know, is prevented by the helmet''''s tether—a helmet without a strap would rotate freely.
During an impact, the helmet, thanks to the low coefficient of friction with the head —determined both by the presence of the comfortable interior, in spongy material, and by the natural relative movement of the skin, accentuated by the presence of hair—, is free to rotate up to a certain limit, beyond which, if the force persists, the strap exerts its retaining action.
It is just afterwards that the absorption of inertial forces, to which the user''''s head is subjected, becomes important; and this is where the SMART STRAP intervenes, modifying its shape and acting as a shock absorber.
HOW DOES SMART STRAP WORK?
The idea was to integrate elastic damping elements into the strap.
These elements are located directly on the strap, with the sole purpose of deforming in order to allow the absorption of energy, which would otherwise be transmitted to the user''''s head.
To fulfill this purpose, special devices have been designed that are capable of allowing controlled elongation by opposing mechanical resistance to the elongation of the belt.
Once the predefined damping function has been completed, the elements are stretched so that the belt adopts its original configuration, thus preventing the elongation threshold allowed by international reference standards from being exceeded. The strap slides through the absorption device, making a wavy path.
In the event that the system is released by a traction force that tends to release the belt, it will tend to adopt a linear shape, deforming the axis itself.
The deformation of the shock absorber thus makes it possible to absorb part of the energy necessary to stretch the belt.
HOW IT WORKS IN THE HELMET
The devices described above are located in 4 positions.
Placing the shock absorbers in these 4 positions (2 on each side) allows some of the shock energy to be absorbed in the event of an impact, reducing not only the strain on the user''''s neck but also the force exerted on the chin by the strap. This also decreases the chance of choking on the leash.
THE ADVANTAGES OF THE SYSTEM
The system object of the patent is characterized by its extreme simplicity, both in its design and in its assembly on the hull.
Advantage:
Partial absorption of the energy derived from the oblique impact. thanks to the action of the elastic elements.
Possibility of dosing the absorbed energy thanks to the use of materials with a variable degree of hardness.
Possibility of controlling the elongation of the belt thanks to the ergonomic design of the elastic damper and its measurements.
Simple and error-free assembly (no assembly errors possible).
