Legal regulations in the Netherlands and Switzerland provide special safety devices for braked and unbraked trailers.
Accordingly, ZGG trailers with a maximum weight of 750 kg need a "tear-free arrangement", which prevents the trailer from working on its own when separated from the towing vehicle. The rope must be permanently attached to the trailer and must not be excessively deformed or damaged.
s a. If there is no eyelet on the tow bar to connect the detachable cable, a bracket must be fitted. This is attached to the tow bar that the lanyard should be attached to.
It is not enough if the safety rope is loosely attached to the tow bar.
This regulation also applies to ZGG unbraked trailers up to 750 kg. These must be secured to the tow vehicle with a safety chain.
