The new large SLS Slide and Lock System is Mares' latest generation ballast system.
The system uses a system based on mechanical interference that, during insertion, pushes the sealing teeth into position and prevents them from re-entering. During release, however, it not only eliminates the interference, but even pulls the teeth inward through a system of sliding surfaces, thus ensuring the removal of the male buckle from the female.
Ease of use is guaranteed by a large handle and a tunnel in the vest that guides the insertion of the weight pocket so that the male buckle arrives flush with the female. With one finger, the cursor is pushed in, followed by a decisive "click" sound, but also the appearance in a dedicated window of a green closed padlock replacing a red open padlock.
The small pocket has a capacity of 6 kg and has a strong zipper.
