Different industry standards cause different parameters to be used to determine length specifications.

A distinction is made between the external length (Le for short), the internal length (Li for short) and the pitch length.

The pitch length describes the measurement of the length at approximately 3/4 of the height of the belt according to DIN 2215.

In addition, the belt tension specified by the vehicle manufacturer must also be included for a reliable length measurement, as it is also an important factor in the production process.

Due to these different measurement methods, different dimensions of V-belts from different manufacturers can occur on the same vehicle.
