Duopower is born from a prohibition; that of a renowned Barcelona urologist, about a cyclist. The reason: he literally couldn''t lean on the saddle.
Although totally demoralized, the cyclist insisted on subsequent visits asking what he could do to get back on a bike. The answer was very simple: "Sitting on a saddle that does not support the perineal area". This simple comment was the beginning of everything, the spark that plugged the fuse, and from which the first ideas began to be generated in the mind.
But all those ideas had to be carried out and captured, so he was helped by Eduardo Elizalde, a specialist in product development, in addition to the urologist himself who was treating him, and a multidisciplinary team. After innumerable tests, effort, and prototypes tested in the Olympic channel circuit of Castelldefels, the current design is reached.
The way in which Eduardo Elizalde found the factory with sufficient capacity and technology to manufacture his saddles from that moment on is also curious. Finding himself at a shoe component fair, he took an anatomical insole with one hand and placed some saddle rods under it with the other, saying to the Alicante manufacturer in front of him: �If you can make insoles, you can also make saddles�. Thus began the manufacture in Spain of the Duopower saddles.
Time has proved the concept and design of Duopower right. When years later the first study by the United States Ministry of Public Health came out on how the saddle had to be in order to avoid the physical damage caused by traditional saddles, in said study, in addition to confirming the serious damage caused by saddles with in the health of men and women, a saddle was designed to avoid all these problems, exactly matching the one that Duopower had already manufactured.
Today, Duopower does not stop in its efforts to innovate year after year, and to open markets all over the world.
