Different measurement and production processes at V-belt manufacturers result in different length specifications between manufacturers.

However, these differences do not affect the functionality of the straps.

Various industry standards use different parameters to determine length information.

Here, a distinction is made between external length (external length, Le), internal length (internal length, Li) and effective length.

The effective length describes the length measurement at approx. 3/4 of the belt height according to DIN 2215.

In addition, the belt tension specified by the vehicle manufacturer must be included for a reliable length measurement, as this is also an important factor in the production process.

Due to these different measurement methods, different V-belt sizes from different manufacturers can occur on the same vehicle.
