As the successor to the proven standard 420 chain, the 420D used a new technology for the production of the rollers.

Previously, the rolls were rolled into strips of sheet metal, creating a seam and therefore a weak point.

Using the new technology, the rolls are made of round material, thus avoiding a seam.
