However, these differences do not affect the functionality of the straps.
Due to different industry standards, different parameters are used to determine length specifications.
A distinction is made between the external length (Le for short), the internal length (Li for short) and the pitch length.
The pitch length describes the measurement of the length at approximately 3/4 of the height of the belt according to DIN 2215.
In addition, the belt tension specified by the vehicle manufacturer must also be taken into account for a reliable length measurement, as it is also an important factor in the production process.
Due to these different measurement methods, different dimensions of V-belts from different manufacturers can occur on the same vehicle.

Flying parts from a broken V-belt in the engine crankcase may have completely damaged or destroyed the oil pump belt.
As it is located behind the variomatic and not immediately visible, it is always worth taking a look behind the variomatic to check the condition of the oil pump belt and replace it if necessary. A damaged or destroyed oil pump belt causes piston seizure.
