The company was founded in Italy in 1972, by Romano Magnani, a motorcycle enthusiast and a visionary in terms of the evolution and adaptation of the helmet to the needs of the rider.

Magnani developed the first full-face helmets and participated in the definition of the European ECE22 directive. Until this European regulation came into force, each country worked independently to define its own standards, creating a complex environment that made it difficult to develop strong brands with a continental reach. Over the decades, many of the world''s greatest cyclists and champions, such as Ángel Nieto, Ricardo Tormo, Carlos Lavado, Johnny Cecotto, Franco Uncini, Mauro Baldi, and more recently Marc Márquez and Joan Lascorz, wore LEM helmets.

Currently, LEM is standing out in the market with a collection of contemporary, highly protective and highly functional helmets.
