EBC Contour Brake Disc

The aim of development is to improve braking performance compared to the original brake disc. EBC uses heat-treated carbon steel for the MX Contour brake rotors. This steel is much more resistant to rust than cast steel.

In addition, the entire surface is protected with a 3 micron thick zinc coating, which wears off in the contact area of the brake pads already during braking.

Only in this area a slight rust with a longer service life can form.

The brake discs are drilled in a birdcage pattern to achieve as few holes as possible while optimizing the cleaning of the brake disc from rainwater and brake dust. The fewer holes there are, the better the performance of the brakes in the wet and the less wear.

The floating brake discs are equipped with EBC's exclusive and patented SD system, whose square rivets in the brake disc recesses under the heat generated during braking allow unlimited expansion of the outer and inner ring without affecting the riveted joint.
