EBC HPSR brake disc, rigid version. MADE IN THE UK.
The objective of its development is to improve braking performance compared to the original brake disc. EBC uses low carbon HPSR steel that has an 18% higher coefficient of friction. This steel is much more resistant to rust than cast steel. In addition, the entire surface is protected with a 3 micron thick zinc coating, which wears away in the contact area of the brake pads as soon as the brakes are applied. Only in this area a slight rust with a longer service life can form.
The brake discs are drilled in a birdcage pattern to achieve as few holes as possible while optimizing the cleaning of the brake disc from rainwater and brake dust. The fewer holes there are, the better the performance of the brakes in the wet and the less wear.
