The aim of the development is to improve the braking behavior compared to the original brake disc. EBC uses low carbon HPSR steel, which has an 18% higher coefficient of friction. This steel is much more resistant to rust than cast steel. In addition, the entire surface is protected with a 3 micron thick layer of zinc, which is rubbed into the area of the contact patch of the brake pads when braking. Only in this area can a slight flash of rust form after a long period of time.
The brake discs are drilled in a bird's wing design to function with as few holes as possible and at the same time optimized cleaning of the brake disc from rainwater and brake dust. The fewer holes there are, the better braking behavior in the wet and less wear.
- Rigid brake disc.
- Made of low carbon HPSR laminated steel.
- Braking surface drilled with an optimized hole pattern.
