Debido a los diferentes procesos de medición y producción de los fabricantes de correas trapezoidales, surgen diferentes especificaciones de longitud entre los fabricantes.

Sin embargo, estas diferencias no afectan a la funcionalidad de las correas.

Debido a las diferentes normas industriales, se utilizan diferentes parámetros para determinar las especificaciones de longitud.

Se distingue entre la longitud externa (Le para abreviar), la longitud interna (Li para abreviar) y la longitud de paso.

La longitud de paso describe la medida de la longitud a aproximadamente 3/4 de la altura de la correa según la norma DIN 2215.

Además, la tensión de la correa especificada por el fabricante del vehículo también debe tenerse en cuenta para una medición fiable de la longitud, ya que también es un factor importante en el proceso de producción.

Debido a estos diferentes métodos de medición, en un mismo vehículo pueden darse diferentes dimensiones de correas trapezoidales de diferentes fabricantes.

Especialmente en el caso de los Piaggioscooters, se debe prestar especial atención a la correa de la bomba de aceite tras la rotura de la correa trapezoidal.

Las partes volantes de una correa trapezoidal rota en el cárter del motor pueden haber dañado o destruido completamente la correa de la bomba de aceite.

Como se encuentra detrás de la variomática y no es inmediatamente visible, siempre vale la pena echar un vistazo detrás de la variomática para comprobar el estado de la correa de la bomba de aceite y sustituirla si es necesario. Una correa de la bomba de aceite dañada o destruida provoca un agarrotamiento del pistón.
