Los amortiguadores Jolt se utilizan para amortiguar el cambio de carga en el tren motriz. De este modo, se reducen los picos de carga en las velocidades máximas y en las frenadas bruscas.

El desgaste de los amortiguadores de sacudidas se hace notar por el aumento de la holgura en el tren de transmisión y conduce automáticamente al desgaste del juego de cadenas.
