The EVOLUTION clutch is composed of 4 steel discs with high-performance sintered friction material (1.9 mm thick) and 3 steel discs (1 mm thick) and is recommended for installation on tuned engines of more than 15 HP.
Both models feature a completely new wave spring. The wave spring is a newly designed coil spring manufactured using high-precision techniques. Thanks to its honeycomb structure, this spring guarantees perfect flatness of the clutch thrust surfaces and can withstand loads of up to 200 kg. The Polini wave spring is factory-set to withstand a load of 80 kg, which can be adjusted using the adjustment shims available in the package, allowing the load to be varied up to 200 kg of thrust. The spring is perfectly positioned in the clutch hub, which is pre-assembled with a suitable centering housing. The clutch hub and pressure plates are made of machined nitrided steel. The material used to manufacture the clutch plates considerably increases the coefficient of friction and, therefore, their resistance to force.
We recommend soaking new cork discs in oil overnight before mounting.
