The stark simplicity of the Concept-X is the figment of the imagination, but make no mistake, while it will be its retro styling that will turn heads, it has had to pass Arai's stringent internal tests. Meaning, underneath that edgy look, you'll find a lightweight PB-cLc shell, with a smooth, rounded shape, reinforced with Arai's patented peripheral strap, to glide across surfaces and deflect from obstacles. The VAS-VC visor system, with its retro mechanical look, improves its impact deflection capabilities by lowering the visor's pivot point to maximize the smooth shape of the shell on top.

Outer shell: PB e-cLc (belted e-Complex peripheral laminate construction)

The Concept-X's outer shell uses a Peripherally Belted e-complex (PB e-cLc) laminate construction for lightweight strength; It is designed to display quickly and diffuse the forces of impact. New materials have been used to improve the previous AR-mat intermediate material and the result is a substantial reduction in weight while maintaining the same resistance as PB-cLc.

Variable Axis System (VAS)

VENTILATION

Concept-X Ventilation

The impeccable outer shell of the Concept-X hides a secret: Arai's internal ventilation system. Cooling air enters through the visor's front vents and circulates through the comfortable liner out three vents in the crown area, through a hidden multi-stage air channel that runs through the EPS liner, through the Negative pressure created by the Venturi effect combined with the side exhaust holes and the ventilation on the neck. Up front and above, six mesh slits close for demisting and open for air to circulate.

It generates an airflow under the helmet that reduces turbulence and wind noise while increasing the output of hot air.

Screen closing system

Directly inherited from our F1 helmet, the visor opening-closing system works on three axes and in the locked position, it closes the visor like never before. By lifting the system with a simple gesture (also with gloves) it is possible to activate the de-mist function or fully open the screen.

Pinlock Insert Lens

Effectively prevents the visor from fogging up or condensing, even in extremely humid conditions. It can be easily cleaned and changed.

Antimicrobial interior padding

Helps maintain neutral acidity levels close to those of human skin and with antibacterial properties. In an effort to make the fit softer, deeper and even more comfortable, we've developed a softer material for the shell of the liner. The lining also features adjustable temple padding that allows for a custom fit.

Replaceable Cheek Pads / Earmuffs

Cheek pads / earmuffs can be easily removed. All parts (replaceable or not) can be cleaned with warm water and a mild detergent. After cleaning, the helmet should be rinsed thoroughly and should never be left to dry in direct sunlight or near a heat source. We have interior pieces of different thicknesses and sizes to accommodate each pilot.

Speaker pockets
