The Engineer jacket is an iconic, versatile silhouette with a relaxed-fit, single-breasted design featuring three buttons and three exterior pockets.

It is unlined and features French seams. It has traditional patch pockets with a pen detail and engraved corozo fish-eye buttons. A washed finish softens the garment, giving it a worn-in look. It also features an embroidered white Brooks England 1866 logo.

Made in Great Yarmouth, Great Britain, for Brooks.

About Brooks
In 1865, John Boultbee Brooks left his birthplace, Hinckley, in Leicestershire, with little more to his name than ambition and £20 in his pocket. He headed to Birmingham, where just a year later he established a business under his own name, producing harnesses and various leather goods for horses. Twelve years later, following the unfortunate death of his own horse, JB Brooks borrowed a bicycle to get to work. He was excited by the possibilities of this new and ingenious means of transport, but the hard wooden saddle hurt him, and he vowed to do something about it.

In autumn 1882, he filed the first of many patents for a leather bicycle saddle. The company expanded rapidly following the success of these revolutionary designs and produced many other new products for cycling, including outerwear and durable luggage. Along the way, it also became synonymous with quality craftsmanship. Brooks England Ltd. is one of the few survivors of the once-glorious British bicycle industry. In 2002, the company was acquired by Selle Royal S.p.A., an international cycling group based in Italy, and has since operated under new management while maintaining its production facilities in England.

Instead of following the path of other former British manufacturers, Brooks has thrived, doubling its workforce and increasing its annual turnover. Its factory in Smethwick, just a few kilometres from JB Brooks’s original premises, is home to its skilled workforce, which continues to use the same traditional machinery, some of which dates back to the 1940s and 1950s.
