Keeping the same shape as the OEM version, with the BMC Race filters the increased airflow typical of BMC products is taken to a more extreme level. By reducing the cotton layers from 4 to 3, the air supply is even greater. For this reason, the BMC Race filters are exclusively recommended for sports use on the circuit, since the increase in air flow can impoverish the carburation (more air than necessary) or the injection (the control unit is unable to correctly control the stoichiometric mixture). To avoid this problem, it is necessary to reprogram the control unit, with which a marked increase in performance is obtained.

For easy identification, BMC Race filters have the word "Race" written at the end of the product code and a yellow line on the filter element.

General information

The cylindrical/panel air filter is commonly called a replacement air filter. Installs into the vehicle's original air box to replace the OEM air filter. It is made from high-performance materials that allow for increased airflow combined with more efficient filtration, ensuring that all impurities are contained to as little as 7 microns (compared to 10 microns on OEMs).

BMC air filters are manufactured using a Full Molding system that allows the characteristic red filter to be made from a single mold without welded joints, thus avoiding easy breakage. The rubber used in BMC air filtration systems is long lasting, highly durable and has optimal adhesion characteristics to all forms of airboxes.

BMC filters are made of a multi-layered cotton gauze soaked with low viscosity oil covered with an epoxy-coated alloy mesh to ensure protection against gasoline vapors and oxidation due to air humidity.

All BMC air filters are pre-oiled and can be washed and regenerated using the appropriate BMC regeneration kit.
